DSGN + DVLP was founded in early 2008 as a web studio creating sites that are visually inspiring, fun to use, and easy as pie to update. All with a no fluff attitude!

We're built on the philosophy that every client deserves to be heard, every designer deserves to be respected, and every developer deserves to code in the middle of the night if that is there prerogative. At the end of the day, its all about a deep rooted love for all things design that makes our clients' websites become explicit extensions of their brand and create lasting impressions in the minds of their customers.

10, nay, 11 Rules We Rock By

1. Our business is crafting memorable experiences.
2. There is always a problem to be defined for each project.
3. There are always multiple solutions to that problem (sometimes you need to look harder).
4. With a little passion, dedication, and know-how, anything is possible.
5. We have no need for words like "no", "can't", "just", and "simply".
6. If something goes wrong, fix it quick, dwell on it once, and then move on.
7. No one is ever right if everyone points the finger.
8. Always keep focusing on the end result.
9. Passion trumps fatigue everyday of the week.
10. Design can always solve a business problem.
11. Always remember that the web is about people. There IS someone on the other side of that screen!

Daniel Schutzsmith

Principal

Daniel acts as the Principal Designer, Founder, Createch Director, Chief Designerd, and a host of other titles. Most importantly, he is the day-to-day creative in charge of the work coming out of DSGN + DVLP.

In addition to his role here, Daniel has been quite active in the design community. He is a professor at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, teaching several web design and business of design related courses. Daniel also teaches several online courses for Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont focusing on Social Networking and Online Visibility.

When not working, he also shares his passion for the craft with other industry professionals through his bi-monthly article on the Business of Design for Dynamic Graphics magazine. He has spoken at many conferences on the business of design and the importance of Online Visibility for businesses. In his free time he enjoys playing with his son, wandering the streets of NYC or the hills of Dutchess County, and singing to the birds that gather outside his office window.

Sabrina Schutzsmith

Project Coordinator

Sabrina provides the business brains and financial savvy behind DSGN + DVLP. Armed with almost a decade of management experience, she provides a solid foundation to the sporadic creativeness that happens in the studio.

She has spent several years in the non-profit sector, working with organizations to help them secure grants and funds to enhance their growth. Her passion for business and proposal writing has quickly helped DSGN + DVLP become a reality beyond our founder's original expectations.

When not handling the business end of the studio, Sabrina can also be found acting as the Project Coordinator for most of the high-profile clients we work with. Her knowledge, patience, guidance, and tenderness truly are a testament to the kind of passion we strive for here at DSGN + DVLP.

In her free time Sabrina enjoys playing with her son, updating her social profiles, chatting with friends and family, and whipping Daniel into shape.
